Scenario Guide
The LanEcho workflow from recording to summary varies by scenario: meetings call for fast minutes, sensitive conversations need sentence-level traceability, and site surveys demand offline recording on the spot. This guide ties together the six stages — recording, marking, syncing, transcribing, choosing a template, and sharing — and gives concrete steps for each scenario so you can put LanEcho to practical use.
Choosing the Right Template
Choose a template before generating a Smart Summary — the template determines the structure and focus of the output. LanEcho ships with 8 built-in templates, each suited to a different scenario:
| Scenario | Recommended Template | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Formal meetings, team stand-ups | Meeting Minutes | Automatically extracts topics, decisions, and action items with a clear structure |
| Keynotes, presentations | Keynote Speech | Organized by speech segments, preserving the full argument flow |
| Daily communication, phone calls | Daily Communication | Lightweight summary that captures key points without expanding on details |
| Courses, training, lectures | Lecture Notes | Note-style structure with knowledge points listed for easy review |
| Personal memos, voice journals | Personal Affairs | Concise key-point recording, ideal for private use |
| Client interviews, business talks | Client Interview | Extracts client needs, feedback, and action items — each traceable |
| Interviews, recruiting | Interview Report | Structured Q&A record, easy to evaluate and score |
| Tours, visits, field trips | Visit & Tour | Segmented by itinerary or location, capturing observations and impressions |
Scenario 1: Formal Meetings
Formal meetings involve many speakers and dense agendas, and you need minutes and action items quickly afterward. LanEcho’s screen-free design records unobtrusively from a desk or pocket, and a short-press marks key moments so no important decision slips through.
Press and hold the record button to start, and short-press to mark important decisions or action items as they happen. After the meeting, connect your phone to sync recordings — use Flash Sync to speed things up when there are many files. Once transcribed, select the “Meeting Minutes” template to generate a Smart Summary; the system automatically extracts topics, decisions, and action items. Verify speaker names are accurate, then share the summary with attendees or export it as a file for archiving.
Scenario 2: Discipline Interviews and Audit Conversations
Discipline interviews and audit conversations require a complete, sentence-by-sentence record with speakers strictly separated, and confidentiality is paramount. LanEcho’s screen-free design never reveals recording intent — place it in a pocket or on a desk and operate it discreetly. Recording and transcription can run entirely in your organization’s private cloud, keeping data within the organization and meeting the information security and compliance requirements of discipline inspection.
Press and hold the record button to start — no screen interaction needed throughout. Short-press to mark key questions or important statements during the conversation. Afterward, sync the recording and generate a Transcript, then review it sentence by sentence: tap any text to play from that exact position and verify the speaker and timestamp for each statement. Choose the “Daily Communication” or “Meeting Minutes” template to generate a summary, and edit speaker names as needed. For recordings involving sensitive content, use permission management to control access, and export files according to confidentiality requirements.
Scenario 3: Client Interviews and Business Communication
Client interviews require a complete record of client needs and feedback, traceable line by line afterward, so there’s no mismatch in recollections. The LanEcho card snaps magnetically onto the back of your phone, ready to record whenever you’re talking with a client.
Press and hold the record button to start, and short-press to mark key points when a client mentions needs or feedback. After the interview, sync the recording and generate a Transcript, then select the “Client Interview” template to produce a Smart Summary — the system automatically extracts client needs, feedback, and action items. Edit speaker names to distinguish client contacts from your team, share the summary with colleagues for follow-up, or export it to the client’s file. Add tags (such as client name or project name) to the recording for easy retrieval later.
Scenario 4: Site Surveys and Incident Investigation
Site surveys and incident investigations happen outdoors where network conditions are uncertain, so you need to record on the spot and organize afterward. The LanEcho card records offline without a network, snaps onto the back of your phone for easy carry, and is ready to record the moment you arrive on site.
Press and hold the record button to start, and short-press to mark key details or anomalies as you find them. Multiple short-presses during the survey mark different locations or items, making it easy to navigate afterward. Once back in a connected environment, connect your phone and use Flash Sync to quickly transfer recordings. After generating a Transcript and Smart Summary, use Chapters to locate key content by survey phase or incident segment, and choose the “Visit & Tour” or “Daily Communication” template to organize. Add tags (such as project name or survey date) for archiving and retrieval, and export the report for filing.
Scenario 5: Study, Lectures, and Training
Courses and training sessions pack in a lot of information, and converting them to text makes review easier with key points accessible by chapter. The LanEcho card records from a desk or pocket without disrupting the class.
Press and hold the record button to start, and short-press to mark key points or knowledge items as the instructor covers them. After the session, sync the recording and select the “Lecture Notes” template to generate a Smart Summary — the system organizes content in a note-style structure with knowledge points listed individually. Use Chapters to review by course progress, and tap the Transcript to replay specific sections. Add tags (such as course name or date) to categorize recordings, so you can quickly find the right course when reviewing.
Three-Step Post-Meeting Method
Regardless of the scenario, post-meeting cleanup follows three steps:
- Choose a template: select the summary template that matches your scenario — the template determines the structure and focus of the output.
- Edit speakers: review the speaker segments in the Transcript, and rename “Speaker 1” and “Speaker 2” to actual names or roles so that attributions in the summary are accurate.
- Mark key points and tag for archiving: key moments marked with a short-press during recording are highlighted in the Transcript — after confirming them, add tags (such as scenario, project, or date) to the recording for easy retrieval and archiving. Use permission management to control access for anything you need to share, and export files for anything you need to archive.
