Settings and Usage Quotas

LanEcho’s personalization settings live on the “More” page of the home page and control how recordings sync from the device to your phone. Usage quotas — transcription time and summary counts — are licensed centrally by your organization, and individuals neither need to nor can adjust them in the app. This article explains the two sync settings and when to use them, the difference between the two licensing modes, where to check your balance, and what common quota messages mean.

Settings on the “More” Page

Tap “More” on the LanEcho home page to see the sync-related switches. Settings are saved locally on your phone per organization, so switching the organization you’re signed into doesn’t carry them over. Changes take effect immediately and apply the next time you enter LanEcho.

Auto-Sync After Device Connection (On by Default)

Keep it on day to day so recordings land on your phone by themselves after meetings. Turn it off when you prefer to pick what syncs, or when you’d rather not use phone storage for now.

With this switch on and no recordings yet, the LanEcho home page empty state reads “Recording files will sync automatically after device connection.” — a reminder that recordings arrive on your phone once the device connects.

Auto-Delete After Sync (Off by Default)

Turn it on when you record heavily and device storage runs tight; keep it off when you want the originals to stay on the device for the record.

Before turning on “Auto-Delete After Sync”, make sure the sync pipeline is working properly. Only the copies on the device are deleted — recordings already synced to your phone are unaffected. For the full sync and upload mechanics, see “Sync and Upload”.

The two switches are independent — each can be on or off on its own:

Setting Default What it controls Best for
Auto-Sync After Device Connection On Whether LanEcho checks the device and syncs its recordings automatically on entry Most day-to-day scenarios
Auto-Delete After Sync Off Whether synced files are deleted from the device afterwards Heavy recording volume and tight device storage

How Usage Quotas Work

LanEcho is an organization-licensed feature. The licensing mode and available quotas are configured centrally by your organization administrator in the management console, in one of two modes. If your organization hasn’t activated LanEcho yet, opening it shows a not-activated state — contact your organization administrator or your dedicated customer service representative to subscribe.

Authorize By User Usage

Monthly quotas are issued per person, with three items:

Item Meaning
Monthly Transcription Duration Per User (Min) The total time each person can use each month for Transcripts (including Real-Time Transcription)
Flexible Duration When Low On Transcription (Min) An extra buffer when transcription time runs low
Monthly Summaries Per User The total number of Smart Summaries each person can generate each month

Transcripts and Real-Time Transcription consume transcription time; Smart Summaries consume the summary count. Each quota is counted independently, and the Chapters produced alongside a summary consume nothing extra.

Authorize By Device Count

Usage is capped by device count: the total number of devices bound and connected in the organization can’t exceed “Max Connected Devices”. At the cap, new devices can’t be bound — the administrator needs to adjust the license or unbind idle devices.

Whichever the mode, the license has a validity period (“LanEcho Authorization Duration”). After it expires, generating Transcripts, generating Smart Summaries, and binding devices all prompt that no quota is available.

Where to Check Your Balance

Balance info follows your organization’s licensing mode: it displays normally under Authorize By User Usage; organizations on Authorize By Device Count have no transcription-time or summary-count quotas, so no balance is shown.

Common Messages and What They Mean

The messages below all relate to organization licensing or quotas. Your administrator handles them in the management console — there’s nothing else you need to do in the app:

Message Meaning and what to do
“This is a paid feature. Contact your dedicated customer service representative to activate it.” Your organization hasn’t activated LanEcho — contact your organization administrator or customer service to subscribe
“Binding failed. Please contact your organization administrator.” The license hasn’t been activated or has expired — devices can’t be bound for now
“Binding failed: the maximum number of devices has been reached. Please contact your organization administrator.” The device cap under Authorize By Device Count has been reached — the administrator needs to adjust the license or unbind idle devices
“Generation failed: no available quota. Please contact your organization administrator.” This month’s transcription time or summary count is used up — ask the administrator to confirm or adjust the quota
“Failed to start recording: no available quota. Please contact your organization administrator.” Available transcription time is insufficient for “Real-Time Transcription” — ask the administrator to adjust the quota, or record without Real-Time Transcription
“No Available Templates” No summary template is enabled in the management console — ask the administrator to enable one, then generate

Multilingual Support

The “LanEcho” interface is fully localized — menus, buttons, prompts, system notifications, and the Device User Manual are all available in five languages:

For detailed sync behavior and Flash Transfer acceleration, see “Sync and Upload”. For licensing configuration and usage statistics, see “Organization Management”.
